Topics: (1) The Metro Vancouver (Greater Vancouver Regional District) board of directors considered a resolution to seek provincial approval for a legal name change to “Metro Vancouver Regional District.” We talk about the back story and implications of this quasi-governmental organization that spends just under a billion dollars of tax money per year. (2) City of Vancouver has initiated a public consultation process for the 2017 year and 2017 – 2021 (five year) operating and capital budgets, at about $1.5 billion per year. Bottom line: Citizens should get involved.
