CityHallWatch note: Content below is copied from City’s official site Nov 2013. NOTE that disclosure appears to be entirely self-regulated. There seems to be NO independent audit or monitoring. Also, note that, between election periods, there appear to be absolutely no controls. See our flowchart of the nasty cycle of the Vancouver civic system here. See the six reforms we recommend to clean up Vancouver politics.

Campaign financing disclosure statements
In a general local election, there are no limits on the amount of
- Campaign contributions that may be collected.
- Election expenses that may be incurred.
However, candidates, elector organizations, and campaign organizers are obliged to record all campaign contributions and election expenses and disclose all campaign contributions and elections expenses in a campaign financing disclosure statement.
