The Burrard Bridge is undergoing extensive repairs. However, the details about why the urgent repairs are needed have been shrouded in secrecy.
Investigative journalist Bob Mackin received a heavily redacted response to a Freedom of Information request about the status of the Burrard Bridge. News recently broke that Vancouver has again been ranked as the most congested Canadian city during rush hour. The Burrard Bridge and other bridges are key bottlenecks to traffic. GPS navigation firm TomTom released their Congestion index for rush hour traffic.
