  1. I would have to go back and read CoV’s comments on why certain properties are not suitable for social housing, but just looking at these images seems to indicate that part of the reasoning has little to do with physical suitability and more do with outside influences.

  2. I don’t know about the others, but the Jericho Hostel is definitely unsuitable.It has only bun bead rooms, that wouldn’t be suitable for COVID separation.

    • Kitsilanoboy, I think your comment is too simplistic. Any time a building of that scale is repurposed, whether it is by government or otherwise, it is assessed, analyzed, redesigned and renovated. As an example, every one of those hotels that the BC government has purchased in Vancouver and Victoria over the last year is/has undergone extensive renovations.
