Tent City 2.0 still going strong, a day after court ruling. Encampment was ordered to clear within 72 hours.

The tent city beside Crab Park on Waterfront Road must be vacated on or before Saturday, June 13th. The court order has given the campers 72 hours from the time of the ruling (made around 2-3pm on June 10th) to leave the property. The encampment at this site started around the same time that Oppenheimer Park was closed by the Province. For now, it appears that the campers are staying put (see photos taken around 6:30pm on June 11th). Will the campers refuse to leave? Will the VPD refuse to enforce the order? Will the campers relocate elsewhere? Is there another solution that is amenable to all parties? Stay tuned.
