The City of Vancouver is reviewing the land-use regulations in Mount Pleasant “to add more opportunities for infill and laneway housing as part of work to carry out the Mount Pleasant Community Plan. An infill house is a smaller house built in the rear yard of a property with an existing character (pre-1940) house. Infill is typically strata-titled.
A laneway house is typically smaller than infill and also built in the rear yard. Laneway housing must be rental.
