Hastings Park Walking Tour to former internment camp, June 18 (Sat)

People who would like to know the history of this area may wish to take the walking tour this weekend being organized by the Nikkei National Museum & Cultural Centre.

Saturday, June 18, 2016, 10am

In early 1942, over 8,000 Japanese Canadians were detained in Hastings Park before being sent to internment sites in the B.C. interior or to work camps across the country. Discover the history of the early days of Japanese Canadian internment and the Hastings Park commemoration project.

Tours are approximately 90 minutes. Optional group coffee/lunch to follow.
Meet at the northeast corner of Renfrew Street at East Hastings Street (PNE Fairgrounds), Vancouver.
