Urban Design Panel May 4 (Wed) – 1495 W 8th (Masonic), 2394 E Broadway, 2001 W 11th

The Urban Design Panel will review the following three projects on Wednesday, May 4, starting at 4pm.

  • 1495 W 8th Avenue
  • 2894 E Broadway
  • 2001 W 11th Avenue

There appears to be some delay in the City’s posting of the agenda on the  UDP web page, so we obtained it directly and provide it here. Residents near the three sites may wish to observe the meeting, which is open to the public, to see how the expert panel addresses urban design concerns and issues. (We have also contacted City officials asking why details minutes of UDP meetings have not been posted for the past five meetings — since February — and requesting that they be made public.)

Description: The proposal is for a new four-storey building for the Vancouver Masonic Centre on W 7th Ave, connected to an 18-storey secured rental residential building on W 8th Ave. The proposal includes 159 secured rental residential units (mix of non-market and market units), and a neighbourhood restaurant on W 7th Ave, with a floor space ratio (FSR) of 5.96.
