A LEED Platinum Community? A look at signage at Olympic Village

A sign posted along False Creek claims that Olympic Village is “North America’s first LEED Platinum Community” and it prominently features the City of Vancouver logo. However, the only LEED Platinum certified building in the area is the Creekside Community Centre.

The Olympic Village website claims that the area is “Canada’s first LEED Gold community” as the buildings (apart from the community centre) are built at the LEED Gold standard. All new rezonings in the City of Vancouver need to meet LEED Gold, it’s not a very stringent standard when compared to Passive House.

  1. Now Millennium is destroying the shop for 40,000 customer of International Sausage factory on Gilmore for a new useless tower. They care for nothing.
