This is the first rezoning/development application in Norquay’s Transition Zone, which allows for four storey apartment buildings. The application is being made under Rental 100. This policy grants the developer incentives such as waiver of development fees, additional floor space, parking requirement relaxations and reduced processing time if the project is 100% rental housing.
Eye on Norquay is especially concerned that this “Family Housing” project is being proposed in an area that has no sidewalks on either side of the street. See details at the new posting that just went up on Galt Street Sidewalks:https://eyeonnorquay.wordpress.com/2015/04/12/galt-street-sidewalks/
Anyone concerned is encouraged to attend the Open House and learn more about this proposal. More detail is available on the City of Vancouver web site:
You can fill out the Comment Form at the Open House or on line. You will have several weeks to submit your comments. A more detailed analysis of the project will be posted at Eye on Norquay after the Open House.
