The City of Vancouver has scheduled three Public Open Houses on March 31st and on April 1st.
The rezoning for a 12-storey, 5.5FSR proposal at 1837-1847 Main Street will be shown to the public on Tuesday, March 31st from 5-8pm at the Native Education Centre (285 East 5th Avenue). This design has 226 residential units, 297 parking spaces, commercial uses and 30 unis of non-market rental. The original Mount Pleasant Community Plan stated that the maximum height along Main Street from 2nd to 7th Avenue would be up to 6-storeys.
A 40-storey tower is proposed for 1335 Howe Street, with a height of 378 feet (115.3m) and a floor space ratio of 11.2. The City will allow the public to comment on this design on Tuesday, March 31st, from 5 to 8pm at the Holiday Inn Hotel located at 1110 Howe Street. A total of 389 condo units and 437 parking stalls are proposed. Currently a maximum FSR of 5.5 is permitted on the site.
An open house regarding the site of a fire hall at 3090 East 54th Avenue (and Kerr Street) is scheduled for April 1st, from 5 to 8pm at the site (3090 East 54th). A new fire hall is proposed that would be housed in the lower two floors of a new 6-storey building. The upper floors would include 31 units of social housing. A building height of 86 feet (26.2m) and a FSR of 2.69 is proposed.
There was an Open House originally scheduled for April 2nd for 2313-2328 Galt Street. This Open House was subsequently rescheduled after planning staff received complaints that it would coincide with the beginning of the Easter long weekend. The rescheduled event will take place on Wednesday, April 15th at the Renfrew Community Centre (4:30 – 7:30pm). A total of 28 units of secured market rental in a 41.5 foot, 2.25 FSR building is being proposed for this site in Norquay.
