Council Preview: March 24-25: Downtown Official Development Plan changes at Public Hearing, 508 Helmcken redux and more

City Hall at nightThree meetings of Vancouver City Council have been scheduled for March 24th and 25th.

The Regular Council meeting on Tuesday March 24th will consider referring the rezoning of a New Yaletown tower at 508 Helmcken to a new Public Hearing. The CD-1 bylaw for this property was struck down the BC Supreme Court in January of 2015.

The Public Hearing scheduled for the night of March 24th includes a controversial item that would redefine “Social Housing” in the Downtown Official Development Plan (part of which includes the West End and the Downtown Eastside).

A Council Committee meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, March 25th. We’ve included a copy of the agendas for the meetings below:
