Arterials impacted by Mayor’s Taskforce Rezoning Policy

We’ve created a short slideshow to illustrate a few of the arterial streets that were identified for upzoning to 3.5 storeys or 6 storeys. The interim rezoning policy will make provisions to allow for 3.5 storey buildings 100m from arterials (except on industrial land) or 6 storeys within 500m of a neighbourhood centre or shopping area. These allowances were specified in the Mayor’s Taskforce on Affordable Housing report now adopted by council. Initially 20 rezonings would be allowed under the interim rezoning policy before a permanent policy would come into effect.
