In the context of Parks Board and City Hall discussions about extending the seawall between Kits Beach and Jericho Beach (likely with rock fill road as is now around Stanley Park), civic activist Mel Lehan has announced the following event.

“Point Grey Foreshore Walkabout”
Saturday, August 4, 2012
1:30 to 3:30 pm
Please note change of meeting place: In the park at Trafalgar Street and Point Grey Road.

For “Keep Kits Beach Wild” supporters and the general public, this walkabout of the natural foreshore will be led by experts. Meet at the stairways to the foreshore at Volunteer Park, a few hundred metres to the west of MacDonald Street and Point Grey Road intersection. Already a geologist and a marine biologist have confirmed plans to be there, and other experts may also come. The purpose of this walk would be to learn about the consequences of building a seawall structure along the foreshore.
